Food

Eric had been doing research, and essentially Community Gardens are really a city concept working where access to land is limited. Since most of us have access to land here, Dianne pointed out how it might be more useful to look at how we can support each other regarding our own gardens. There is now a stall for trading surpluses. It is just inside the main entrance to Gondwana on the left, and there are instructions for trading with it. It was decided to re-focus the group on all aspects of Food including Production, Trading our Surplases and group purchasing.

Whole Foods

Joel has been checking with Santos, and Byron Health Food Distributors (who specialize in fresh food), about the possibility of a single drop-off and bulk rates.

This turned out to be too hard, and Joel dropped it.

Bulk Buying

Joel will check with Santos about some form of bulk buying, for example where orders are submitted and a single drop-off is made from their warehouse. It was suggested (but I'm not sure anyone committed to do it) that a questionnaire be circulated as to what people would like to see available at the Servo.

Local Community Garden

(Michael and Kali) This plan is being re-considered, it might be more feasable to arrange for bulk buying as a community, for example from whole food warehouse's, and also direct from growers. If any of you know local organic growers please put them in touch with Kali.
