Weed Spraying

Dianne submitted a formal council complaint about the spraying

Customer Request / Complaint: Diane Trussell

On 14th June council workers sprayed poison along Preston's Lane and Gray's Lane, Tyagarah, near where I live. I deem the spraying to have been completely unnecessary and no notice was given and no warning posted. I feel very strongly against the use of poisons spays on these roads. I walk a lot, often barefooted and do not want contact with poison. People walk their dogs, and children play on the grasas. Our community is a nature sanctuary and many species of native birds and animals inhabit and feed on our roadsides and surrounding vegetation. Sprays ARE toxic to animals and humans no matter what hype the chemical companies put out, and I do not want it used in this environment. This area is also a catchement for streams into the nature reserve and Brunswick River so poisons are carried into watercourses. Please amend the behavior of your weed controllers in future.
