S94 Application
S94 proposal was sent to council and the response from the consultant was positive. We now await the result.
PROPOSED USE OF SECTION 94 FUNDS FOR TYAGARAH
The Tyagarah Hall Committee and Progress Association, Inc. recently panelled residents of the area to discuss options for the Sect. 94 funds available to the Tyagarah area in the amount of $5,076.96. After many meetings and votes the following schedule of funds were agreed upon by residents.
PLAN A: Update of L.A.M.P. for use of submission into Council’s new proposed LEP
Use of funds: Entire $5,076.96 as this is a costly project
Plan A represents our priority request for the funds. Tyagarah, being a rural community, is not in need of certain “hard” infrastructure funds as the current road and public-use areas are satisfactory. However, it is residents strong opinion that updating our LAMP – providing Tyagarah with “soft” infrastructure- will ensure the future well-being of the community. In private discussions with Councillors, the Tyagarah residents have been encouraged to update their LAMP for submission into the new Byron LEP. If the Section 94 cannot be used for this purpose, we would appreciate if other funds could be made available for this project.
PLAN B: Our secondary request if the above is absolutely not possible:
- Wildlife Corridor plantings - joining up along Simpsons Creek between the woods near the freeway and those on the hill. $2176.96
- Trees along Gray's Lane, looking for fast growing native trees to get a canopy up. $1600
- Intensive Planting of the former picnic area around the junction of Grays Lane and the Highway. $1600
