Dieter - Tree felling

Of course, the main topic of discussion was the trashing of the environment on Dieter's Way. Of course, its too late to stand the trees back up again, and it looks like the whole thing was done legally - if the ethics are somewhat questionable. It turns out that the actual tree cutting was done at North Power's request in order to get a power cable to the new hanger, and since they are a statutory body they don't have to comply with the council's Tree Preservation Order. Naturally, council staff should have asked about other damage that would be caused by the D.A. , but we also need to be vigilant and prompt them to ask the right questions in the future. We'll be writing to the council to express our concerns at the inadequate procedures.
